Streams of Fernhouse
Streams of Fernhouse
Aneesh, Sneha and Sarika were sitting at the Fernhouse waiting for the others to return and picking out leeches from their shoes, when they saw a narrow path leading to a densely vegetated area. Down the boulder they descended, the stream next to the fern house calling out to them. They slipped, fell and almost broke bones in the pursuit of reaching the stream. The sound of birds and the gushing stream were way too astonishing and hard to miss. The moss and ferns around the stream caught Aneesh’s attention and he wandered off along the stream near some big boulders where the forest floor runoff and rains were recharging the stream. Sarika and Sneha went closer to the waterfall and enjoyed looking at the pristine beauty of the place. Sneha has always loved forest streams and this one in particular was made more memorable by the colourful Impatiens flowers growing around it. Sarika found some tadpoles and frogs and quickly started documenting them only to hear a big splash as Aneesh slipped into the stream! He was so blown away by the variety of tiny mosses that he stepped on a rock which was covered with algae and splashed his way down the stream, soaking wet but enjoying every minute of it.
